Educational Design Concept & Research
As a business that is inclusive by design, if we can work with a disabled/neurodiverse master student(s), we will. My interest from the research side is what information and data currently exists and then how it can be applied in a systematic way.
Stage 1 - To get the best possible understanding of the existing system. What is the existing state of research and knowledge? Research/dissertation project ideas:
Stage 2 - Project(s) making a contribution through collecting new data based on gaps in the literature.
Stage 1 - To get the best possible understanding of the existing system. What is the existing state of research and knowledge? Research/dissertation project ideas:
- A systematic literature review of causes of inactivity in children and young people*
- A systematic literature review of preventative mental ill health approaches*
- A systematic literature review of any research combining physical and mental health
in children and young people* - A theoretical approach looking at neurodiverse and disabled students through a lens
of capability. Looking for areas where they are marginalised i.e. content dependent
on rote memorization, content inaccessible to VI, exclusion from PE, etc. - A statistical look at existing data sets to see if it is possible to quantify attainment
lost/gained through the marginalisation of neurodiverse and disabled learners.
Stage 2 - Project(s) making a contribution through collecting new data based on gaps in the literature.
- Impact of diversified content on attainment.
- Impact of diversified content on mindset associated with learning.
- Impact of diversified content on perception of difference and self confidence.
- Impact of diversified content on engagement of learners.
- Impact of diversified content on CAHMs referrals (long-term)
- Impact of diversified content on inactivity (long-term).
